Map of the 18th- and 19th-Century German Colonies of Galicia, 1930
A single-color map in German language of the historical region of Galicia, with points identifying German colonial settlements from the recent era, i.e. since the medieval settlements at Lemberg (Lwów, Lviv) and Neu Sandez (Nowy Sącz). The data on colonies established in the 18th and 19th centuries was derived from a study by W. Kuhn, "Die jungen deutschen Sprachinseln in Galizien", published in Münster in 1930. Settlement names are not noted, nor are the sizes of the settlements, but the geography and the placement of nearby named major cities is sufficient to identify many of the colonies. This historic paper map is preserved by the National Library of Poland.
