A multicolor general plan and street map of Tarnów (Tarnow) in German language, produced in August 1944 near the end of the Generalgouvernement administration. Labeled as a Special Issue A not for public use, this map omits features of strategic importance in the war and many labels and symbols which appear on earlier Polish maps, such as the large Jewish cemetery, but does include the main rail station and lines. Major and minor streets are labeled, many with new German names, but some are preserved from their Polish originals (Żydowska-Strasse) and others are simply translated into German (Lemberger Strasse). This historic paper map is preserved by the UC Berkeley Library and digitally presented by the WIG Map Archive.
