A full-color Soviet map of the Lviv Oblast created by the General Directorate of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGK) office of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (UkSSR, also URSR), following the invasion of former eastern Galicia in September 1939 and the formal annexation of the region three months later. Oblast and district (raion) borders are shown on the map as they existed on 01 September 1940. Features shown on the map include a large number of cities, towns, and villages plus major roads and rivers. The scan of this historic map was sourced for Gesher Galicia by Mykhailo Zubar from the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine (VNLU) in Kyiv.
