A multi-colored administrative and communication map of Galicia designed by A. Herrich and published by Carl Flemming of Berlin and Głogów after 1900 and before World War I. Large and very detailed, this map was cut and backed for folding, probably as a travel map; in this digital version we have re-cut and re-assembled the 32 sections but left the worn edges unblended. Shown are: major and minor towns; roads, rivers, and railroads; castles and fortresses; key church villages; and the elevations of prominent mountains across the province. Included are portions of northeastern Hungary, southwestern Russia, and Bukovina. Single image sourced by Jay Osborn from the maps division of the United States Library of Congress.
