An early road map of Galicia showing major towns and cities with interconnecting roads, produced by Johann Blaim of the "k.u.k. Galician Roads and Bridge-building Direction", signed by the maker in 1820. Roads are drawn in thirteen weights and colors to define types and quality. The legend also defines symbols depicting three types of settlements and more than forty other features including administrative centers, churches, schools, factories, and mines. The map is decorated with romantic ink and wash paintings including a stylistic ruin with the author's name and office. Original copy of the map from the National Library of Poland; digital copy sourced by Areta Kovalska for Forgotten Galicia from the Polona Digital Library.
