A near-complete, partially-colored cadastral map of Zarszyn (Szarschin, Zarschschin), 15km west of Sanok in Poland, surveyed and lithographed in 1854. This is a final-state cadastral map including building parcel numbers but no house numbers, with red-line revisions from an undated later survey to mark a new rail line and numerous land parcel splits. The map shows a mostly-wooden market square, a brick church (the version shown here was built in 1882), a Christian cemetery, and large tracts of wet meadows. Although a small town, by the end of the 19th century Zarszyn was more than 15% Jewish. This historic paper map is preserved by the Archiwum Państwowe w Rzeszowie Oddział w Sanoku; digital scans were donated to Gesher Galicia by Zev Moshe Lipschutz.
