A partially-colored cadastral field sketch of the small town of Szczucin (Stuchin), just north of Tarnów at the northern border of Galicia (Russian Poland was just across the Wisła River), from a first walking survey in 1848. This is a first-stage rough property map showing all house numbers and many land parcels with property owners' names. This sketch precedes a related final-stage cadastral map from the same survey with accurate geography but limited parcel numbering. At the time of this first survey Szczucin had no masonry buildings on its market square except the Mary Magdalene church; outside the town center only some buildings in a manor complex are built of brick or stone. This historic paper map is preserved by the Archiwum Narodowe w Krakowie.
