A complete partially-colored map of the town of Szczakowa (Shtehkeva, Shchakova), today a northern suburb of Jaworzno, lithographed from a second survey in 1869. This is a final-state cadastral map showing selected building and land parcel numbers primarily recording substantial property changes since 1848 due to the introduction of a major rail line. As the map shows, Szczakowa became a transfer point for Galician rail traffic into neighboring Poland (then part of the Russian Empire). In the late 19th century, Szczakowa was home to nearly 400 Jews who likely relied on nearby Jaworzno for community religious services. This historic paper map is preserved by the Archiwum Narodowe w Krakowie.
