A complete full-color cadastral map of the village of Smorze (Smozhe, Сможе) near Skole in western Ukraine and the former border with Hungary, surveyed and lithographed in 1851. This is a final-state cadastral map including land and building parcel numbers but no house numbers, with numerous redline revisions from an undated later survey. Smorze grew in a small river valley of the eastern Beskids of the Carpathian mountains; the map features a spare market square, and a small church and Christian cemetery. The Jewish community of Smorze was too small to establish its own cemetery, but in the Galician era two-thirds of the village population was Jewish. This historic paper map is preserved by the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv.
