A complete full-color cadastral map of the city of Brody (Броди, בראָד), surveyed and mapped in 1844. This is a final-state cadastral map including land and building parcel numbers but no house numbers, and with an unusually large number of street names. The map shows part of the old city fortifications, Brody castle, the well-built market square, several churches and the huge Brody synagogue (on Schulgasse). Although in rough condition from heavy use, the map clearly details the dense urban structure of this important city. No suburban neighborhoods or ordinary agricultural parcels appear within the cadastral area; those and the city's cemeteries likely appear on an adjacent village map. This historic paper map is preserved by the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv.
